Ucluelet Campground: Harbour Views and Family-Friendly Comfort

Ucluelet Campground is one of my most-used camping spots on Vancouver Island. Conveniently located near the heart of town, it offers a mix of harbour view sites, clean facilities, and easy access to local restaurants and shops.

Harbour View Sites

Not every site at Ucluelet Campground is equal. Some of the back sites don’t have views and feel less private. But the harbour view sites make up for it. These spots overlook Ucluelet’s working harbour, giving campers a front-row seat to the boats, water, and stunning sunsets. For me, that’s what makes this campground special.

Modern Facilities

The facilities here are a big plus. The washrooms are only a few years old, kept in excellent condition, and include free hot showers. Right beside the washrooms is a laundry room with washers and dryers, which is perfect for longer stays. Having these amenities on-site makes camping here much more comfortable.

Local Food and Convenience

Another reason I love Ucluelet Campground is the location. Just across the street is Howler’s Family Restaurant, a fun and casual spot for meals and drinks. Next door, the Petro-Canada gas station has a bakery upstairs that makes fresh items daily. My kids’ favorite treat from there is the homemade pudding cups — something they always look forward to on our trips.

Why Ucluelet Campground Belongs on Your Vancouver Island Itinerary

Ucluelet Campground combines convenience, comfort, and views in one package. While not every site is private, the harbour view spots are worth booking. With modern washrooms, free showers, laundry facilities, and tasty food options just across the street, it’s a campground that makes staying in Ucluelet easy and enjoyable.
